The vertical sortation unit has proven itself in many applications as the medium of choice for in line 2 way sortation.
The unit operates by pitching conveyors to allow a stream of bags to be split into vertically separated streams. The action of the unit means that virtually no force is imparted to the bag due to the sorting action, as such this technology is very bag friendly.
The unit has found many applications in pre-sort and in Hold Baggage Screening (HBS). Its vertical sort action has proven to be space efficient for pre-sort applications where for example bags are separated into 2 streams to feed 2 main sorters. With a shallow angle variant (< 7 degrees) it is also very bag tracking firendly, this has meant that the technology is often used for outsort of suspect bags in the HBS process.
This unit can be provided as a packaged standalaone unit including its own controls for integration into other schemes or provided as an integral part of our own schemes.
